Horses. Those wonderful, beautiful, spirited animals. We enjoy riding them for recreation. We depend on them for work. We use them in sport.

And yet, too often, the day comes when we no longer want them.

This becomes a problem for the owner. But it’s an even bigger problem for the horse. Because it’s just become another unwanted horse – and America already has tens of thousands of them.

This site is dedicated to all our unwanted horses ... and explores what we should do about them. As you’ll see, it’s not really about them. It’s about us.
